Police Raid Criminal Hideout in Akwa Ibom, Six Suspects Arrested

A recent raid by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in the Afaha Offiong community, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, resulted in the arrest of six individuals suspected of being cultists and drug dealers. The operation also led to the seizure of two bags containing substances believed to be Indian hemp, cocaine, and Cocktail concoctions.

ASP Timfon John, the Public Relations Officer of the command in Uyo, released a statement regarding the successful raid.

Among the arrested suspects were Kufre Godwin Okon, Uko Monday Edet, Cyril Michael, Gabriel Effiong, Joseph Effiong Okon, and Udofia Emmanuel Udofia, all allegedly involved in drug-related activities.

The raid was part of the command’s ongoing efforts to eliminate criminal activities in the state, following intelligence reports received by the Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara.

The swift response of the operatives to the reported criminal activities led to the swift apprehension of the suspects. The recovered substances, including Indian hemp and cocaine, are undergoing further investigation.

The statement emphasized the commitment of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command to maintain the safety and security of the state by taking action against criminal elements. The public was urged to report any suspicious activities to aid in the apprehension of criminals and ensure the continued safety of the community.
