Police PRO’s cousins killed in Benue by suspected herders

In the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, communities were attacked on Sunday by suspected armed herdsmen, resulting in the death of at least seven people.

According to reports, three of the victims were cousins of Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the police in the state.

An anonymous native disclosed that the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, and several individuals were injured by the assailants.

The native revealed, “Four people were killed at Tse Gamber in the Sengev Council Ward, while three others were killed at camp Nagi in the Mbachohon Council Ward along Naka-Agagbe Road.”

Catherine Anene, the police spokesperson, confirmed that she hails from one of the affected communities and acknowledged that three of the victims were her cousins.

“That is my village, three of my cousins were killed, and that is the total number,” she stated.
