Police confirm death of one inspector as officers and military personnel clash in Adamawa

The recent clash between Police and Military Officers along Target Junction, Yola North Local Government Area, resulted in an exchange of fire and the brutal attack on the Police facility, leading to the killing of Inspector Jacob Daniel. CP Afolabi Babatola, the Commissioner of police in Adamawa state, strongly condemned this incident. The attack on the police command headquarters on November 21 was previously reported.

In a statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje on November 22, it was revealed that the CP has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter to ensure peace and justice. The CP emphasized that attacks on security officers in the line of duty would no longer be tolerated, as the lives of all security personnel are held sacrosanct. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to the protection of lives and property, emphasizing the importance of working with other sister security agents to protect the fundamental rights of security operatives.

Nguroje also mentioned that the police boss appealed for calm as the top management of both security agencies are taking legal measures to address the situation.
