Police arrested suspected killer of Edo Security Network operative


The Edo State Police Command said it has arrested one Akpasa Ustin Iniosa, AKA Prada, over the killing of Samuel Aigbedion Osagie, a member of Edo State Security Network, ESSN.

NewsNow reports that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command, Funsho Adebgoye, disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City.

Adegboye said Osagie was murdered on April 29, 2024 at Oza Street, off Sokponba Road, in Benin City.

He said the killing of the ESSN member was captured by a CCTV camera which exposed the identity of the perpetrators.

The CP said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit of the Command arrested the suspect while conducting investigation using technical intelligence.

According to him, the suspect, who confessed to the crime had been helping with investigations.

He listed items recovered from the suspect to include seven live ammunition, one live cartridge, one blue Beretta pistol, one Tecno phone and one First Bank ATM card.

Adegboye said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
