Police arrest Kano politician over alleged incitement on radio

The Kano state police command has apprehended a politician known as Abdulmajid Danbilki also referred to as “Commander’’ for allegedly instigating violence during an appearance on a radio show. As per the authorities, Danbilki reportedly made reckless remarks that could potentially provoke violence and encourage individuals to oppose the state government. In a viral video and during the radio session, he purportedly urged residents of Kano State to resist any efforts by the state government to restructure the Emirates councils. The state Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, affirmed the arrest to journalists, stating that the suspect had been charged and detained at a correctional facility until his bail plea is heard by the Chief Magistrate’s court on Feb. 6.
