Plateau Governor Describes 2015-2023 as Era of Locusts

During a recent broadcast in Jos, Governor Caleb Mutfwang characterized the period between 2015 and 2023 as a challenging time for Plateau State and Nigeria at large, referring to it as a “season of the locusts.”

He highlighted the decline in Nigeria’s standing, moving from the largest economy in Africa to the world’s poverty capital during this timeframe.

Mutfwang commended the citizens for their conduct during the #EndBadGovernance protests, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual respect.

He expressed gratitude for the support and reiterated his commitment to uplifting Plateau State from poverty, acknowledging the ongoing efforts in sectors like public transportation, agriculture, health, and education.

The governor also mentioned initiatives such as providing financial support to micro-enterprises and distributing fertilizer to bolster agriculture in the state.

Despite the challenges faced, Mutfwang assured the people of Plateau of his dedication to improving their lives and combating poverty with a long-term vision.

He emphasized the need for patience and collaboration in implementing strategies to alleviate suffering, urging for a temporary halt to protests to facilitate constructive dialogue.

Mutfwang urged vigilance against criminal elements exploiting the protests for personal gain and praised the security forces for maintaining peace and order.

He encouraged continued unity and cooperation among citizens to build a prosperous and secure state for all.
