Plateau government discharges index case of Coronavirus

The headline reads, “Plateau government discharges index case of Coronavirus.” The Plateau State government has announced the discharge of the index case of Coronavirus from the isolation center at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

A consultant physician at the infectious disease center in JUTH, Nathan Shehu, confirmed that the patient has been successfully treated and discharged. Shehu emphasized that the patient has recovered and no longer poses a risk to the community. He also advised her to maintain social distance, respiratory and cough etiquette, as well as hand hygiene.

The state commissioner for health, Nimkong Ndam, also verified the patient’s discharge and confirmed that the government officials would accompany her home. Plateau State has reported a total of 5 cases of Coronavirus so far.
