Plans for the year 2024 unveiled by Juju musicians

It has been emphasized by the Lagos State chapter of the Association of Juju Musicians of Nigeria that the genre of music is still highly relevant, contrary to some misconceptions. The association has revealed its agenda for 2024, highlighting priorities such as organizing workshops for members, providing assistance to elderly members, and creating a comprehensive website with all members’ names.

Sewanu Hunpe, a newly elected executive of the association, expressed that the brand of music remains significant and the most viable. He mentioned that other musical genres often adopt traditional instruments, lyrics, and other features from Juju music. Members of the association are reportedly experiencing success with major shows both locally and internationally.

Oluwasegun Julius, also known as Segzy da Water, who is a member of the executive, extended appreciation to the National President of the association, Queen Ayo Balogun, and prominent Juju musicians like Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, and Shina Peters for their contributions to the association’s advancement.

Olushola Taiwo, aka Shola Vibrator, the vice chairman of the association, reiterated her commitment to enhancing the progress of AJUMN. She particularly aims to facilitate the active involvement of female artists for the betterment of the association.
