Photos of the $2 Million Roofless Bentley Car with 5,000-Year-Old Tree Trim

Luxury car manufacturer Bentley has unveiled the Mulliner Bacalar, a $2 million car with no roof and trim made from trees that fell 5,000 years ago.

The Bacalar lacks a roof or even a removable cloth top, rendering it unusable in rainy conditions. Bentley has announced the production of only 12 of these cars. The car is equipped with a 650 horsepower 12-cylinder engine and an eight-speed transmission.

The car’s interior wood trim is crafted from trees that have been naturally preserved for over 5,000 years in the rivers and lakes of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. Its distinct black color is the result of aging for five thousand years in wet soil. Bentley had planned to unveil the Bacalar at the Geneva Motor Show on Thursday, but the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Consequently, Bentley decided to reveal the car online. It was announced that only 12 models will be produced, and all have already been sold out.
