At least 3 people have been reported dead in a tragic gas explosion that took place at the Sabon Tasha area in Kaduna state on Saturday, January 4th. The explosion occurred at a gas station located by the main road opposite the Total Filling station, at the always busy Sabon Tasha at approximately 1 pm.
The blast caused extensive damage to the victims’ bodies. Security personnel were observed clearing body parts from the road.
An eyewitness, Philip Kambai, who narrowly escaped the blast, recounted his experience,
“I had just finished getting my haircut and was leaving when I heard a loud boom! I fell to the ground but managed to get up. Then I saw fire. I immediately sought cover behind and climbed a fence, sustaining injuries in the process. Another person also climbed the fence, but I have doubts about the fate of the barber and two others.”.
