Osun State Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Salamat Kehinde for setting fire to her husband’s six-bedroom apartment worth N3 million.
According to eyewitnesses, Kehinde committed the offense on March 18 in Adio, Ori Eru community of Iwo, after her husband, Lamidi Kehinde married a new wife, resulting in the complete destruction of all household properties inside the six-bedroom apartment.
Mustafa Katayeyanjue, the Osun State Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that Salamat was arrested after her husband reported the incident.
Katayeyanjue conveyed, “One Lamidi Kehinde of Offadio in Ori Eru, Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State, reported that his second wife, Salamat Kehinde, burnt his six-bedroom house with all the property therein valued at about N3m. No life was lost. The suspect has been arrested and is being interrogated at the SCIID. The case is under investigation.”
