During an attempt to disconnect the power lines of defaulters in Rumuewhara, Port Harcourt, two staff members of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) were assaulted.
A video circulating online depicts two PHED officials, one atop a ladder disconnecting the power lines and another stationed at the ladder’s base.
Suddenly, local residents approached the PHED official at the ladder’s base and launched an attack, eventually throwing him to the ground and assaulting him.
Simultaneously, a woman walked up to the ladder and pulled it, causing the PHED official atop the ladder to fall several feet to the ground.
A video capturing the attack has gained traction on Twitter.

This happened in Rumuewhara Port Harcourt. PHED officials can’t be treated like this.
