Allegations of betrayal have surfaced as a record producer recounts his efforts to support Peruzzi before his fame in the music industry.
King Patrick, the record producer behind Golden Boy Entertainment, claimed to have encountered Peruzzi in 2014 after the latter dropped out of medical school due to financial difficulties faced by his father.
He asserted that he financially supported Peruzzi in returning to school and signed him to his record label.
“I paid for his ticket and visa, he was like a brother to me,” he said.
However, he observed Peruzzi’s stronger inclination towards a music career over his studies, prompting him to facilitate Peruzzi’s entry into the entertainment industry. This included providing for his basic needs and accommodation.
Subsequently, after signing Peruzzi and relocating to Lagos, the producer claimed to have arranged for a grand living arrangement and shot multiple music videos for him. However, only one video was released and it caught the attention of Davido.
Issues arose when Peruzzi allegedly made a deal with Davido’s DMW without informing King Patrick and breaching their existing contract.
This incident led to emotional distress for King Patrick who claimed to have been betrayed by someone he supported wholeheartedly.
He disclosed that the matter is pending in court and alleged threats from Peruzzi. King Patrick emphasized his desire for rightful credit and compensation from Peruzzi and Davido, expressing the impact of recent events on his mental well-being.
As evidence, he shared an audio recording of Peruzzi’s threatening remarks and screenshots of his conversations with Davido.
He concluded by urging for justice and recognition in this matter, which has left him distressed for an extended period.
