Providing updates on injuries before Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola revealed that both John Stones and Kyle Walker sustained knocks while on international duty with England.
Missing training on Thursday, the defensive duo won’t be in contention for selection.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Guardiola stated, “Injuries. Ederson is showing great improvement. Kyle and John are ruled out.
“The situation is unfortunate,” he added.
Guardiola expressed readiness for the upcoming match, saying, “We have been performing exceptionally for the last month. After the international break, the initial match makes you wonder what will unfold. We had a solid training session yesterday to gear up for the game.
On a positive note, Guardiola mentioned, “Akanji is fit to feature against Arsenal.”
