Peoples Democratic Party NEC Meeting Results Unveiled

After the recent gathering of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja, the outcomes have come to light.

In a statement issued by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the party following the meeting, 15 resolutions from the party’s NEC were disclosed.

The PDP addressed the ongoing economic and security challenges in the nation under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

According to the issued communique, the 98th NEC session extensively reviewed “the state of affairs of the nation and the party and resolved as follows:

“NEC commends all the party organs for their united resilience, steadfastness, and dedication to the unity, stability, and continuity of our esteemed party amidst formidable obstacles.

“NEC also lauds the PDP members, notably the youths and women, for their bravery in countering the divisive and anti-people activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially their attempts to weaken the opposition and establish a one-party system in our nation.

“NEC expresses dismay over the poorly executed policies of the insensitive APC government, resulting in escalating insecurity, severe economic adversities, rising unemployment, high living costs, and widespread despair nationwide.

“NEC raises serious concerns over the surge in terrorism and violence, including the heightened incidents of senseless killings, mass abductions, and community raids in various regions of the country.

“NEC condemns the indifference, incompetence, and arrogance displayed by the failing APC administration, which continues to operate with no regard for the welfare of Nigerians.

“NEC also denounces the encroaching totalitarianism and the push towards a one-party system, detrimental to our national peace, stability, existence, democratic progress, and good governance.

“NEC, after due deliberation, urges President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promptly convene a special National Security Council meeting to devise holistic solutions and strategies to tackle the escalating insecurity and its adverse effects on our nation.

“NEC further urges President Tinubu to promptly revamp his economic team by bringing in individuals of proven integrity and competence, free from bias and vested interests, to aid in revitalizing the economy.

“NEC also demands a review of all policies and programs by the Federal Government that are suffocating the economy and negatively impacting citizens’ lives, including fuel price hikes without relief measures, electricity tariff increments, increased taxes, and detrimental fiscal policies’ enforcement.

“NEC calls upon all party organs, leaders, key stakeholders, and indeed all PDP members to unite, set aside personal or group agendas, and collaborate towards the goal of repositioning the PDP for a return to power at the center for the benefit of Nigerians.

“Consequently, NEC has received and endorsed the timetable for party congresses nationwide.

“NEC has also approved the reconstitution of the Party Disciplinary and Reconciliation Committees to further ensure the party’s stability.

“Similarly, NEC has sanctioned the extension of the Party Constitution Amendment Committee’s term to allow for the inclusion of new amendment proposals in its discussions and final report for NEC’s consideration.

“NEC has applauded the National Working Committee’s efforts in the party’s rebranding endeavors, including the widely embraced new PDP logo by party members and Nigerians at large.

“NEC urges all members of the party to continue working together for PDP’s success, benefiting Nigerians and upholding democracy in our nation.”
