NDLEA’s special squads combat open sale and consumption of drugs in FCT
In the ongoing efforts to combat the open sale and consumption of illicit drugs in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has established special squads for this purpose.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja on Monday, the Commander of Narcotics NDLEA, FCT Command, Kabiru Tsakuba, revealed the formation of these squads.
The strategy employed will involve dismantling notorious drug joints, apprehending drug dealers, confiscating illicit substances, and prosecuting offenders.
Highlighting the unique situation of the FCT, Tsakuba mentioned the presence of an international airport through which flights arrive from drug source countries and East African regions known for trafficking hard drugs like cocaine and heroin.
