Why the LA District Attorney’s Office Won’t Prosecute Diddy for Assault
Despite video evidence surfacing of rapper and music mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, allegedly assaulting his former artist and ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has announced that they will not pursue charges.
In their statement, the office explained that due to the incident occurring in 2016, they are unable to prosecute as the statute of limitations for assault has expired.
The office clarified that there has been no case presented regarding the attack shown in the video against Diddy by law enforcement.
The LA District Attorney's office encouraged any victims or witnesses to come forward with their reports to law enforcement or seek assistance from the Bureau of Victims Services.
