The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), yesterday warned the communities and settlements along the bank of River Niger to leave now and save lives and properties against sudden over flow of the river due to rapidly rising water level. Its Director General, Muhammad Sani Sidi, said yesterday that the chances of flooding occurring along the river bank are high in view of intense rainfall and rise in water level. SAD!!!Atleast 13 Killed In Fire At Birthday Party

At least 13 people were reportedly burnt to death at a birthday party for young people in France late last night . Six more were injured during the horrific incident in Rouen, after fire ravaged a bar in the capital of the French region of Normandy. The victims were between 18 and 25-years-old according to Paris Normandie . Firefighters were called out to the blaze at around 1am this morning, at the Cuba Libre bar in Seine Maritime. The bodies were taken to the University Hospital but they have yet to be identified. The fire was allegedly caused by an accidental explosion on site, RT reports and authorities expect the death toll to rise.

JUST IN!!!YABATECH ASUP Begins Indefinite Strike. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) on Thursday began an indefinite strike over unpaid allowances by the college management. The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) are waiting in the wind as they have issued the college management 24-hour ultimatum to meet their demand. Following the indefinite strike, thousands of students were neglected in the classrooms as lecturers refused to go attend to them. The indefinite strike by ASUP would affect the forthcoming examinations for part and full time students scheduled for this weekend for the part-time students.

Tragedy!!! 19-Year Old Stabs 1 Dead, Injures 5 In A Knife Attack In Central London

A woman in her 60s is dead and five people have been left injured following possible terror attack in central London. A 19-year-old suspect was overpowered by police and arrested in the knife attack in Russell Square that began shortly before 10.30pm on Wednesday night. He remains under police guard in hospital. Terrorism as a motive is one possibility being explored by police at this stage. However, officers also said “mental health is a significant factor” in the case. Three men and two women were among the others injured. It is not known at this stage what condition they are in or the nature of their injuries.

This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Service, Francis Enobore, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja, according to NAN. The Controller-General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed, has confirmed that five of the 13 prisoners who escaped from Koton Karfe prison in the early hours of Saturday have been re-arrested, NAN reports.
