Court remands man for beating staff of Honeywell Foods to death in Lagos
An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos State has remanded a 27-year-old man, Damilola Farojoye, for beating a staff of Honeywell Foods, Omokhogie Francis Ayogwokha, to death with a wooden stick. The incident occurred on December 21, 2019, at about 8:30a.m. on Adidas Field, Tolu, Ajegunle, Lagos State, when the defendant was reportedly fighting with his wife and the victim intervened.
Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, the Prosecutor, disclosed that Farojoye is facing a count of murder. However, the defendant's plea was not taken during the court proceedings. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo, ordered that he be remanded at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions. The case has been adjourned until February 11, 2020, for mention.
