Michael Oluronbi, a 60-year-old Cherubim and Seraphim pastor based in Birmingham, in the United Kingdom, was found guilty of 24 counts of child sexual abuse and rape on Tuesday, January 14th. He was convicted of 15 counts of rape, seven counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault. His wife, Juliana Oluronbi, aged 58, was also found guilty of three counts of aiding and abetting rape. Six rice smugglers arrested by Nigerian navy, 1,439 bags of rice seized

The Nigerian navy has arrested six suspected rice smugglers and seized 1,439 bags of rice during five patrol operations in Akwa Ibom State. The suspects were apprehended at Unyenge, Effiat and Mendoro creeks. Two suspects were found with 803 bags of rice on January 13 while 185 bags were seized from fleeing suspects on January 2. Additionally, 286 bags of rice were confiscated from escaping suspects on December 26, 2019, and 165 bags were seized from four individuals arrested on December 23, 2019.
