She had initially been diagnosed with the virus in late January, discharged from the hospital on February 1, and her reinfection has alarmed health experts. The Impact of Different Beard Styles on Coronavirus Transmission

According to an infographic from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), various styles of beards can hinder the effectiveness of face masks and respirators, potentially increasing the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.   Originally released in 2017, the chart has regained attention following a CDC official's warning about the imminent spread of the coronavirus in the US.   The infographic illustrates that certain beard styles may prevent a proper fit of face masks, thereby raising the likelihood of contracting the virus.   It is recommended to be clean-shaven or to have side whiskers, soul patches, or handlebar mustaches to ensure a proper fit of face masks. In contrast, longer styles such as the Fu Manchu mustache, mutton chops, beards, and stubble are not advisable...

Court Rejects Ambode’s Lawsuit to Halt Lagos Assembly’s Investigation

A legal case brought by former Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to prevent the State House of Assembly from investigating his tenure as governor has been dismissed by a Lagos State High Court. The Assembly formed a committee in 2019 to examine Ambode's administration, particularly focusing on the purchase of 820 buses, which they alleged was not approved by the lawmakers. Ambode had sought court intervention to halt the probe. Following Thursday's ruling on the application, Justice Yetunde Adesanya concluded that the court did not have jurisdiction to stop the legislators from proceeding with the probe. The judge clarified that the ad-hoc committee established to investigate Ambode was a fact-finding committee and not an indictment. “The claimant (Amb...

Court rules Kogi ex-Deputy Governor Achuba’s impeachment illegal

A Kogi State High Court has declared the removal of Simon Achuba, former Kogi deputy governor by the State House of Assembly as null and void.   Justice John Olorunfemi ruled on the case on Thursday February 27 and described Achuba's removal as a constitutional coup, hatched and executed in a democracy.    The High Court Judge stated that the nomination of Edward Onoja who replaced Achuba as deputy governor did not follow due process, as the former Deputy Governor's removal was a clear violation of Section 188 subsection 8 of the constitution.    He held that the section of the constitution stops the assembly from taking further action against the former Deputy Governor after he was not found wanting by the panel. Olurunfemi disclosed that the assembly failed to produce the remaining...
