The United States has granted asylum to Ohimai Amaize, a former Africa Independent Television (AIT) presenter who fled Nigeria in 2019.   In a statement released on Sunday, January 19th, Ohimai revealed that he left the country in June 2019 following a clash between the Federal Government and AIT.   Earlier, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had threatened to revoke DAAR Communications' license over tweets shown on AIT's morning show, Kakaaki Social, which Amaize anchored.
