A Subway stop, previously known as "42nd St-Bryant Park," has been renamed to "Kobe Bryant Park" by subway riders in tribute to the late Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant.   Shortly after news of his tragic death in a helicopter crash was announced, a temporary sign was erected at the Bryant Park subway station.   The sign at the 42nd St-Bryant Park Station had "Kobe" placed over "42nd Street," transforming it to "Kobe Bryant Park."    

On Australia Day, a tragic incident occurred during a cake-eating competition. The Franco-German tactician made a surprise visit to Maja and Samuel Kalu in France ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in March.
