Fire Breaks Out in Ketu, Lagos Leading to Rescue of Two Children

Earlier this evening, a building in Ketu, Lagos was engulfed in flames.   The building, which is located at Ile-Ile bus stop, opposite Delta Crown in Ketu, Lagos, drew a large crowd as people helplessly watched the fire consume the structure.   In a video captured at the scene, bystanders can be heard discussing a possible gas explosion, although this has not been confirmed.   Despite the dangerous situation, two children were trapped inside the burning apartment. The Shari’a Court in Rigasa, Kaduna has handed a two-week prison sentence to Mariya Muhammad, a housewife, with no option for fine, after she was found guilty of calling her neighbor, Hajiya Karima Sani, a prostitute. Plateau state government announces plan to honor Ropvil Dalyep, a UNIMAID student murdered by Boko Haram

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, revealed that the state government has finalized arrangements to commemorate Ropvil Dalyep, a University of Maiduguri student who was recently killed by members of Boko Haram. Dalyep, a resident of Jing, was abducted by Boko Haram militants on January 9th while en route to Maiduguri for school, and was tragically murdered on January 22nd.
