Two men nabbed in Abuja for possessing N45 million counterfeit notes

Two men, Badamasi Sule and Muhammad Muhammad, suspected of engaging in money counterfeiting, have been apprehended by the operatives of the Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. They were found in possession of approximately N45 million in counterfeit Naira notes.   The EFCC, in a released statement, disclosed that the arrest took place in December 2019, following actionable intelligence which uncovered a group of scammers involved in producing fake N1,000 notes. Additionally, they were found carrying counterfeit $100 bills. Further investigations revealed that the duo had two "Ghana-must-go bags" containing the N1,000 notes, intended for circulation.
