Alleged father apprehended for allegedly causing burns to his 5-year-old son

A man identified as Idowu Sikiru has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly causing burns to his 5-year-old son's buttock, mouth, and fingers as a punishment for purportedly stealing cooked fish.   Sikiru, who allegedly committed the offense in Itowo, in the Oke Sopen area of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, was apprehended after a member of the public notified the police.    According to Ogun State's Police Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect reportedly forced his son Segun onto a red-hot aluminum plate after accusing him of stealing cooked fish.      The injured boy has been taken to the hospital for treatment, while the alleged father has been transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the state criminal investigation and intellig...

SUG President Arrested in Full Regalia During Cult Meeting at Federal Polytechnic Ilaro

Over the weekend, the Student Union Government President of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in Ogun State was apprehended during a cult meeting.    Identified as Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji, the SUG President was nabbed alongside another member of the Aiye (Black Axe) Cult.     Upon their arrest, Olatunji, who was in his full cult regalia, along with his colleague, has been handed over to the police. He was reportedly elected in December 2019.

National leaders of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, have advised Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to reopen the secretariat of the state council of NLC without further delay and not try their patience. It also urged the governor to conclude negotiations on the implementation of new minimum wage with workers in good faith. At its National Administrative Council, NAC, meeting in Abuja, national leaders of NLC, dismissed the reason adduced by the Rivers State government (carrying out integrity test) as dubious and untenable, noting that the building was constructed by the state government, commissioned only last year and given to the state council.

Femi Fani-Kayode Addresses Rotimi Amaechi’s Accusation of Embezzlement of 2 Billion Naira while serving as Minister of Aviation

Femi Fani-Kayode has once more responded to the accusation made by Rotimi Amaechi almost 3 years ago, alleging that he embezzled 2 billion Naira during his tenure as the Minister of Aviation.   The allegation was made by Amaechi during an interview on Channels TV in May 2017, where he claimed that Fani-Kayode absconded with the 2 billion Naira provided by the Rivers State government to repair the dilapidated Port Harcourt Airport runway.   Amaechi alleged that the funds were given to Fani-Kayode by former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili.
