People are asking to be arrested as a young woman police officer known as ‘Baby Cop’ joins Twitter (see photos)

One young female police officer has caught the attention of many Nigerian men on Twitter because of her beauty and youthful appearance.   Owolafe Omoadoni, a police officer who joined the force in 2018, recently made her debut on Twitter under the nickname Baby Cop.   Despite starting to post less than 24 hours ago, Nigerian men have quickly filled her replies with declarations of love and requests to be taken into custody by her.   Here are some photos of the police officer and reactions from Twitter users.

Enugu state government capture COVID-19 patient who fled Delta isolation center

The Enugu state government has successfully apprehended a COVID-19 patient who absconded from the isolation facility in Delta state and sought refuge in Enugu. The patient, having tested positive in Delta, managed to escape and make their way to Enugu. A statement from the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Media, Louis Amoke, revealed that the state's COVID-19 taskforce acted promptly to track down and detain the patient. Additionally, measures such as contact tracing of individuals in contact with the patient and decontamination of visited locations have been initiated. Following his capture, the patient has been returned to the Delta state government. The statement also confirmed that Enugu has recorded a total of 8 cases, with 6 currently receiving treatment.

NCDC driver in Nasarawa tests positive for COVID-19

Confirmation has been made that a driver working with the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has been diagnosed with the novel Coronavirus in Nasarawa state.   During an expanded state security meeting in Lafia, the state capital on May 5th, the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, revealed this development.   According to the governor, the infected driver, who resides in Ado in Karu Local Government Area of the state, is responsible for transporting test samples for the agency in Abuja. It is believed that he contracted the virus during the course of his duties.
