President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of Dr Kingsley Isitua Obiora to the Senate for confirmation as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. In a letter to President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, President Buhari said the nomination was in accordance with the provision of Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007. Nine oil bunkering suspects handed over to EFCC

The EFCC has taken custody of nine individuals who were allegedly involved in illegal oil bunkering. They were crew members on the motor vessel 'MV Salvation' and were apprehended by the Nigerian Navy. The suspects have been identified as Tamuno Abereniboye, John Gwuene, Simon President, Nice Bien, Daniel Aghovwieokpo, Prince Ogun, Jabu Kimidengiyefa, Daniel People, and Olawale Bello. They were arrested for the illegal trans-shipment of approximately 50,000 liters of suspected illegally refined Automative Gas Oil (AGO) around Escravos. Captain AV Kujoh, representing NNS Delta, handed over the suspects to the EFCC in Warri, urging the anti-graft agency to conduct further investigations and ensure that those found guilty are prosecuted.
