Youths Go On Rampage In Anambra As Police Alleged Killed An Only Son

Awka – HUNDREDS of youths of Enugwu -Ukwu in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State went on rampage Thursday following the death of a middle-aged man in the area said to be an only son. The youths made burn fires and brought traffic to a standstill on the ever-busy Onitsha -Enugu old road. They said the Police killed the man while trying to enforce the curfew order and threatened to burn down a police station in the area. However, the police said the man’s death was caused by a fatal accident. Following the protest, the state police command deployed a large number of its men to the area to maintain law and order. An eye witness said that following the large number of the youths on the road, the policemen were forced to start shooting sporadically in the air to disperse them....

Latest Development: 13 Patients Recovered from COVID-19 and Discharged in Lagos

Thirteen individuals previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have successfully recovered and were discharged from various Isolation centers in Lagos state.   This announcement was made via Twitter by Gbenga Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Lagos state.   The discharged patients, comprising 9 males and 4 females, received treatment at the Onikan, Eti-Osa, Lekki, and Lagos University Teaching Hospital Isolation centers.   This brings the total number of discharged patients in the state to 662.

After being accused of sexually assaulting two teenage sisters, a British teacher named Matthew William Watkin, 37, from Shrewsbury, was arrested in Cambodia. 40 health workers in Kano released after beating Coronavirus

After battling COVID-19, 40 out of 50 doctors and health workers at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano state have been discharged.   The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Abdurrahman Sheshe, revealed the news while accepting donations of hospital consumables and food items from Orange Drugs Limited.   Sheshe commented, "It is really a thing of joy to share with (you) the review on the test of those workers who were infected by COVID-19 some weeks ago and put on Isolation. I am just (being) notified that forty of them tested negative, and no death was recorded and no condition attached with their discharge."   The hospital's spokesperson, Hauwa Abdullahi, added that the ten staff still on isolation are making progress and may be discharged before Eid Fitr.
