The Imo State Government Takes Drastic Measures to Combat the Coronavirus Outbreak

All tertiary institutions, primary, and secondary schools in Imo State have been ordered to close until further notice by the state government amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. In a broadcast this morning, Governor Hope Uzodinma stated that even though no cases of the virus have been reported in the state, an isolation center has been established in Owerri to quarantine individuals who test positive for the virus. The governor also mentioned that measures have been implemented to screen all passengers arriving at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport for symptoms of the Coronavirus, with any suspected cases being taken to a designated area at the airport for further evaluation.
