It has been confirmed by President Buhari that he will leave office in 2023 and will not contest in any future elections.   Buhari expressed his strong belief in democratic principles and his commitment to promoting and sustaining them in Nigeria and across West Africa. Confirmation has been made by the Federal Government regarding the disengagement of 25 ambassadors and heads of missions. The affected diplomats were issued a notice just before their disengagement.
