The political home of the family of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has been demolished by the Kwara state government. The demolition, known as ‘Ile Arúgbó’ in Ilorin, the state capital, was carried out early on January 2nd with security operatives present to maintain order and keep protesters at bay. The state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, had previously announced the decision to demolish the property, citing unlawful acquisition of the land by the Saraki family.
