The news of 14 US passengers testing positive for the Coronavirus after being evacuated from a Japanese cruise ship has caused concern. The passengers were among the more than 300 people removed from the Diamond Princess cruise ship. According to a joint statement from the US Departments of State and Health and Human Services, the passengers had tested positive during the evacuation process after disembarking from the ship. They had been tested two to three days before the evacuation flights. The agencies revealed that despite being in isolation and asymptomatic, the decision was made to allow the 14 individuals to remain on the aircraft to complete the evacuation process.
