Confirmation has been made by the Niger State Police Command of the death of Inspector Ibrahim Mitra during a confrontation with bandits.   In a statement, the Command's spokesperson, DSP Muhammad Abubakar, stated that on Sunday, February 16, a Joint Police/Military team in Bangi Area under Mariga LGA of Niger State received a distress call reporting the invasion of Muchiya Kaji Village by armed bandits suspected to be cattle rustlers. The passengers were among the more than 300 people removed from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
