When on duty in Apapa, Lagos, a LASTMA official was allegedly beaten to a coma by a police officer.   According to the daughter of the said official, Roland Fuludu, he was beaten by SP Femi, a police officer attached to the Apapa Zone 13 of Lagos State.   She revealed that her father opposed the police officers' breaching of traffic rules and extortion of bribes from motorists, which led to the violent attack he suffered.     She claimed that SP Femi repeatedly struck her father on the head with a baton, causing him to lose consciousness. Allegations have surfaced that a pregnant woman sought refuge in a studio to escape her husband, who allegedly tried to physically harm her for not preparing a meal early.   A makeup artist took to Twitter to share a photo of the pregnant woman hiding in her shop and recounted the distressing ordeal.   According to her account: "This pregnant lady just ran into my studio, she fell down at the entrance and I quickly rushed to help her. Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot is reportedly on strike in protest against his club for cutting £7m of his £28m salary in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis. According to La Stampa, the French star has remained in France, where he has been isolating since the pandemic halted Italian football on March 9, and is refusing to return to Italy amid the disagreement with the club. Six killed as armed herdmen attack Benue village (photos)

Soldiers successfully repelled an attack on a village in Benue State, resulting in the death of at least six persons, including four suspected armed herdsmen. Gunmen attacked Agasha community in Guma Local Government Area of the State on Monday night, killing two villagers. The attackers invaded the village around 11:30pm, firing indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of two persons and injuries to several others. According to witnesses, an elderly woman near the Primary School in Agasha was also shot by the attackers. Maj. Gen. Renowned Engineer and Former Nigeria Society of Engineers Chairman, Ibrahim Khalil, Succumbs at Age 71 in Kano

Engr. Ibrahim Khaleel Inuwa, the 16th President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and former Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, has passed away.   Engr. Inuwa breathed his last on Monday at his Kano residence, reaching the age of 71.   A prominent Nigerian engineer and distinguished Abusite, he made history as the first individual from Northern Nigeria to lead the esteemed engineering organization.   He was born on April 15, 1949, in Gwale LGA, Kano City, and received his primary education at Kofar Kudu Junior Primary School, Emir’s Palace, Kano from 1956 to 1959, and Gwale Senior Primary School, Kano from 1960 to 1962. He is survived by his wife and nine children.
