Unemployed man in court for allegedly stealing 2 bottles of Holy Communion wine
A man who is unemployed appeared in court on charges of stealing two bottles of Holy Communion wine from a church in Mushin, Lagos. Faniyi Ajibola, 27, is accused of not only stealing the wine but also soaps and sachets of salt valued at N46,000. The incident is said to have occurred on September 24, 2019. According to Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Edet Akadu, the defendant unlawfully entered a Catholic church in Mushin and stole the items. Ajibola was reportedly caught by members of the church while drinking the stolen wine at the altar and was subsequently handed over to the police. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of theft and breach of peace. Chief Magistrate K.O.
