Bauchi state reports three new cases of Lassa fever
Bauchi State has confirmed three new cases in the recent Lassa fever outbreak across the country.
The state's Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, announced the cases on Friday, January 24. He stated that heightened surveillance measures have been implemented following the outbreak, which resulted in fatalities in Kano State, including among healthcare staff.
Dr. Mohammed acknowledged that the recent outbreak has caused fear among healthcare workers in the state. He expressed concerns, saying:
