US denies UK request for extradition of American diplomat who fled UK after killing British teenager

The United States has rejected the United Kingdom's request to extradite American citizen Anne Sacoolas, the wife of an American diplomat, who caused the death of British teenager Harry Dunn in a car accident last August. Harry Dunn, 19, was fatally injured while riding a motorcycle on August 27 after being hit by a vehicle driven by Sacoolas, who was driving on the wrong side of the road in Croughton, central England. Croughton hosts a Royal Air Force station under US Air Force control. After the incident, Sacoolas claimed diplomatic immunity and left the country.
