Rivers State records 4 cases of Lassa fever
The occurrence of four cases of Lassa fever in Rivers State has been confirmed by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the state's Ministry of Health, Dr. Chinwe Atata. Along with the main cases receiving prompt medical attention, 57 individuals who had potential physical contact with the affected persons are under surveillance. The state's health authorities have assured the availability of necessary commodities and drugs for both therapeutic and preventive measures. In their efforts to ensure public health safety, they are collaborating with state and federal agencies as well as other stakeholders. It has been emphasized that the situation is under control and there is no need for alarm.
