A 60-year-old woman in Chicago has been diagnosed with coronavirus, making her the second person in the US to be infected with the deadly disease. Dozens are being tested across the country, including in New York.   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Friday, January 24, that the patient had traveled to Wuhan, China, where the virus originated in late December. 76 people test positive for Lassa fever in Edo

The state of Edo has reported 76 positive cases of Lassa fever out of 175 suspected cases that were tested. The figure was announced by the Edo State commissioner of health, Dr. Patrick Okundia during a Lassa fever committee meeting. The meeting was chaired by the State's Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, along with a representative from the World Health Organization. Gunmen Attack Travellers Near Kaduna Train Station

On Friday January 24, travellers near the Rigasa train station in Kaduna state were reportedly targeted in an attack by gunmen. The attack occurred as the travellers were preparing to board vehicles to their respective destinations after arriving from Abuja.
