76 people test positive for Lassa fever in Edo

The state of Edo has reported 76 positive cases of Lassa fever out of 175 suspected cases that were tested. The figure was announced by the Edo State commissioner of health, Dr. Patrick Okundia during a Lassa fever committee meeting. The meeting was chaired by the State's Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, along with a representative from the World Health Organization. Dr. Okundia stated that 76 suspected cases of Lassa fever were confirmed, and those individuals are currently receiving treatment at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. Governor Abdulrazak and Saraki family to settle out of court over Ile Arugbo demolition

Governor Abdulrazak and the Saraki family have reached an agreement to settle out of court regarding the demolition of Ile Arugbo, which was constructed by the late Olusola Saraki. According to the lawyers representing both parties, they informed Justice Abiodun Adewara on Friday, January 24, about their decision to settle out of court. They have scheduled a meeting on January 27 to resolve all issues amicably. Gunmen Attack Travellers Near Kaduna Train Station

On Friday January 24, travellers near the Rigasa train station in Kaduna state were reportedly targeted in an attack by gunmen. The attack occurred as the travellers were preparing to board vehicles to their respective destinations after arriving from Abuja. While it is uncertain whether anyone was kidnapped during the assault, a security source disclosed to The Cable that motorists abandoned their vehicles by the roadside during the attack.
