Supreme Leader of Iran Criticizes Trump and Condemns the West in Uncommon Friday Sermon
In a rare sermon on Friday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayotallah Khamenei criticized Donald Trump, branding him as 'a clown' who feigns affection for Iranians but will ultimately betray them.
Khamenei's last Friday sermon was delivered in 2012, during the 33rd anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution. In this recent address, he called for "national unity" and described Iran's unintended downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 as a "bitter" tragedy.
The sermon followed protests in Iran demanding the resignation of the country's leaders after the Iranian military acknowledged mistakenly shooting down a Ukrainian Airliner while anticipating a potential American retaliation for the bombing of its bases in Iraq.
