Odion Ighalo: Why I Left Watford for China
Odion Ighalo, a former Super Eagles striker, has disclosed that he made the move from Watford, where he had established himself, to the Chinese team, Changchun Yatai, in 2017 primarily for financial reasons.
The Nigerian striker, who had a successful spell at the English club with 33 goals in 82 matches, revealed that he had received offers from Crystal Palace and West Bromwich before opting to join Changchun Yatai.
Speaking to Watford Observer, Ighalo expressed that he has no regrets about his decision to leave England for China, as it has had a significant impact on his career.
