Authorities of the Jigawa Hisbah Board reportedly made 14 arrests of suspected gay men and 12 rapists across the 27 local government areas of the state in 2019.   Commandant Ibrahim Dahiru Garki, speaking at the Board’s headquarters in Dutse, disclosed that the arrests took place between January and December 2019.   In addition to uncovering 14 abandoned newborn babies in 2019, Garki also mentioned the apprehension of over 200 prostitutes and 20 individuals allegedly involved in fornication by Hisbah officials in 2019.   The suspects have been handed over to the police for prosecution in the relevant court of law.
