EFCC: Hands off Shehu Sani’s arrest, Buhari not involved
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has rejected allegations that Senator Shehu Sani's arrest is linked to his criticism of President Buhari.
EFCC refuted claims that the former Kaduna lawmaker was being prosecuted solely for his criticism of President Buhari. Instead, he was accused of receiving money from Sani Dauda, the owner of ASD Motors, with the promise to pass it on to the acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu. He was also accused of soliciting money he had pledged to give to Ibrahim Muhammad, the chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), and other judges to influence the outcome of a court case.
