Police Arrest Herdsmen Involved In Kidnap Of Enugu Catholic Priest, PDP Women Leader

The Police Command in Enugu State, Monday, paraded three suspects involved in several kidnap cases in the State. The suspects, paraded alongside 26 others, were said to have been involved in the kidnap of Rev. Fr. Cyprian Ugwuanyi, Parish Priest of St. Paul Catholic Church, Ogbosu Umulokpa in Uzo-Uwani LGA, as well the Women leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area. They told journalists that they left cattle rearing business and joined a kidnapping syndicate because they needed quick money. Jelani Maraj, Nicki Minaj’s brother, gets 25-year prison term for raping his stepdaughter

Jelani Maraj, the brother of Nicki Minaj, has been given a 25-year prison sentence for repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter.   Jelani, who was sentenced by Judge Robert McDonald in a New York court on Monday, January 25th, was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.    Despite repeatedly denying the allegations and claiming the story was fabricated to extort his famous younger sister, his stepdaughter testified in a 2017 trial, detailing how he raped her in their Baldwin home while he was married to her mother.   He was given a 25-year prison sentence, two years after a jury found him guilty of the sexual abuse that began in 2015.

Lagos state government bans Okadas, tricyles, including Opay, Gokada from operating in parts of the state

The Lagos State Government has made a decision to prohibit the activities of motorcycle riders, popularly known as Okada riders, and tricycle riders in certain areas of the state. Ride hailing services, OPay and GOkada, have also been banned from operating. The ban will be enforced in six Local Government Areas (LGAs), nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), and 10 major highways in the state.
