EFCC Investigates Baba Ijebu for Alleged Tax Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is reportedly investigating Nigerian businessman Adebutu Kessington, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, for alleged tax fraud and economic sabotage.
The investigation was initiated after Western Lotto, owned by former Ogun Senator Buruji Kashamu, petitioned the anti-graft agency. This has led to the detention of one of Adebutu's sons and a management official of Premier Lotto at the EFCC's Lagos office.
Sources at the EFCC revealed that they have identified at least N5 billion in revenue losses against the government since the investigation began, directly blaming the management of Premier Lotto for allegedly shortchanging Nigerians.
