The Lagos State Government has clarified that no one has been granted a license to operate commercial motorcycle services, known as Okada, following the ban imposed in six local governments and nine local council development areas of the state. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, emphasized that the aim is to regulate commercial motorcyclists to limit their excesses. “As far as I am concerned, the government has not registered any company to operate okada. Conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretense charges led to the conviction of Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri and his mother, Alaba Kareem Adeyeri, for defrauding victims of $82,570 (approximately N29.9 million).   Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, sentenced the duo to three years each in a correctional center.     The judge found them guilty on all counts, with their sentences running concurrently.
