Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives in Delta State During Police Chase (See Photos)

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in an accident that occurred during a police chase in Sapele, Delta state on Tuesday, July 7. According to eyewitnesses, police officers attempted to stop a Benz SUV traveling from Benin city, but the driver refused to comply and instead began to reverse. This prompted the police officers to initiate a pursuit. During the chase, the officers reportedly fired at the vehicle's tires. As a result, the driver lost control and collided with a motorcycle carrying a rider and a passenger. The rider, identified as Joseph, was killed instantly, while the passenger, Mrs. Igho Avwata, an elderly woman and a primary school teacher, succumbed to her injuries an hour later. According to reports, the founder of the church, Ifekwe Udo, also known as Lucifer or Fada-Fada, gained popularity for providing employment opportunities to unemployed youths in the community. He distributed motorcycles on hire purchase and established a brothel. Ifenkwe was apprehended for alleged violations including breaking the lockdown order, child trafficking, and terrorizing the community.
