The discovery of 818 rounds of live ammunition concealed in a bag of rice led to the arrest of three women. They were identified as Eleana Yowei, 25, Favour Bello, 21, and Priye Jimi, 30. Eleana's husband, Lance Corporal Yowei, was also detained by the Nigerian military. Eleana claimed she received the bag of rice from her husband, who brought it from Zamfara, and was instructed to pass it on to Favour, who would then deliver it to her mother in Bayelsa. A tragic incident in Katsina: Eight-year-old boy allegedly poisoned by stepmother

Twenty-year-old housewife Murja Ibrahim, as shown in the picture above, has been arrested by the police in Katsina state for allegedly poisoning her eight-year-old stepson.   According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Gambo Isah, on June 19, Ibrahim Sani of Jidadi village in Dandume LGA of the state reported at Dandume Police Division that his second wife, Murja, poisoned his son Habibu Ibrahim, who was eight years old.   Isah mentioned that a team of detectives visited the scene, moved the boy's body to General Hospital, Funtua, where he was confirmed dead by the attending physician.   The spokesperson added that the suspect has been arrested and is cooperating with the police in their investigation.

The governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and his wife, Edith, have decided to go into self-isolation after receiving news that one of their daughters recently tested positive for COVID-19.   On Friday, June 26, the governor revealed this information on his Instagram page. ''Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Therefore, following the established procedures, we will both be in isolation for the next 14 days. We will continue to keep you all updated.'' he wrote   Delta State currently has 715 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
